Vikram Sakhuja, the current Chief Executive for GroupM South Asia has been appointed as the Global Chief Executive of Maxus, a leading GroupM media agency network. This will be the first time that the CEO of Maxus will be based out of India.
Sakhuja will replace Kelly Clark who will head GroupM’s North America operations. Sakhuja will take over the new responsibility after the agency finds his replacement at GroupM. Sakhuja and Clark will report to GroupM Global President Dominic Proctor.
"Vikram is the perfect candidate to take on the Maxus role from Kelly. Maxus has a great management team and a lot of momentum. I have no doubt that Vikram will continue to build a great agency," Proctor said in a company statement.
Sakhuja joined GroupM in 2002 as Managing Director of Mindshare Fulcrum and was subsequently elevated to the position of Managing Director of Mindshare South Asia. With 28 years of experience in the industry, Sakhuja has earlier worked with Star TV as Executive Vice President - Marketing, Coca-Cola as Marketing Manager - Brands and Procter & Gamble as Associate Manager Media and Public Affairs.
