Joshua Maa of Madhouse Inc & Takayuki Hoshuyama of D2C were a joint keynote at ad:tech New Delhi 2011 & here what their presentation entailed. 

Joshua Maa, Founder & CEO, Madhouse Inc. shared the Marketing spends worldwide and the fact that by 2014 APAC’s spends will surpass those of North America , within APAC, Indonesia, India and China show the highest growth rates. He shared that India and China have the most mobile subscribers in the world,  wherein China has the largest and the most complex mobile environment in the world and among the various operating systems available Android and iOS have grown rapidly. Apart from this in China, Wifi Usage Now Constitutes a Significant Portion of Mobile Online Traffic with a 4X growth YoY. He concluded his presentation by sharing a few more trends in China’s mobile marketing, like the accelerated penetration of smart phones, the App media landscape in China etc.

Takayuki Hoshuyama, President & CEO of D2C spoke briefly about his and D2C’s background and then went on to describe the Japanese ad market situation which has reduced from 7 trillion yen to 6 trillion yen with an overall reduction of 1.3% in the ad market. He further explained the growth stages of the market from the Start of 3G and Basic ad format to a variety of ad formats, the beginning of Search result ads and search on Telco portals making mobile the main communication hub. He concluded his presentation by presenting case studies of Japan post office, Acuo chewing gum, Sony Music entertainment, Axe men’s cosmetics and i Butterfly (a coupon delivery system)
