SAIF Partners, a Private equity firm has invested $5 million in online video site iStream.com, probably to augment the operational sphere.
The video website is the flagship product of A2 Media Pvt Ltd, a Media Production Company helping businesses around the world to get their message across through sales and marketing videos, videos that train and TV programs that entertain. It is an international media production company, with facilities and affiliates in the US and China in Honolulu, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Shanghai.
iStream is an online video service showcasing premium content across multiple genres like News, TV shows and Movies. It asserts to help Indians around the globe discover and enjoy their favourite programs, at their convenience on multiple devices – that too in over eight languages.
It has online partnerships with several Indian broadcasters, including exclusive deals with top networks like Viacom 18, offering Colors and MTV
The website was founded in 2007, entered into a tie-up with YouTube™ three years back and grew to become one of their largest partners in the country, clocking close to a billion video views since then.
It offers News across all major Indian languages, both Live and On Demand. In a month or so they will be ready with other offerings, as per the company website.
