iMedia Brand Summit Goa was India’s first gathering meant for digital media marketing professionals & was a fabulously conducted summit. With over 50 CMOs of India’s leading brands & over 50 CXOs of service providers/publishers/agencies, this three day summit spoke about how Brands should look at beefing their digital budgets & build long lasting business relations by networking over this period of time. Unlike other conferences, iMedia summits focus on spending a good amount of time on knowing each other’s business potential & delegates enjoy the relaxed atmosphere as these ice-breaking sessions helped them bridge the gap between ‘buyers’ & ‘sellers’ mentality.
We caught up with Anuj Kumar, CEO of Affle at the summit & had an interesting conversation with him on what are Affle’s plan to grow ahead in this fast paced industry. Mobile marketing was undoubtedly the focus in this summit & Anuj interestingly pointed out that Mobile is far bigger than the Internet in terms of reach & numbers. Anuj promotes the fact that advertisers today need to be educated on mobile marketing or the Internet industry on the whole & he gradually sees the change evolving in the marketer’s mind too. Speaking on the format of iMedia summits, he clearly states the importance of building relations through these gatherings as connecting one on one with advertisers/brand managers for such longer durations is practically impossible in their daily routine.
