iMedia Brand Summit Goa which made its debut in Sept 2011 in India remains one of the finest ever CMO summits & it also saw our digital media industry’s senior most folks present there for three days. While each evening ended with gala dinners & networking remained at its epitome throughout the summit, the 2nd & 3rd day began with Breakfast Sessions of those who were the Presenting Sponsors of the summit.
We had Mahesh Narayanan of Google (Country Manager – BD) who kick started day three’s session with a topic on ‘Engaging Consumers on the Mobile’. Mobile remained one of the major focus areas in this summit as digital media professionals, whom we categorized as sellers, had eye opening statistics to share about on how India can be tapped with its large population. Interestingly, all marketers who were curious to know how to engage their consumers/customers were told exactly how they could achieve that through a platform like Mobile. Huge numbers, larger variety & reasonable handsets, innumerable apps & entertainment options, MNP, etc were few of the aspects that were spoken about but the idea was to push marketers think beyond SMS/WAP.
