Komli Media, a Mumbai based online ad agency, has raised the bar of online ad analysis and measurement in India by launching Komli Labs, a centre for research in advertising sciences.
Srinivasan H Sengamedu (SHS) has been appointed as the Vice President and Head of Komli Analytics and Labs. SHS, former Director of Research at Yahoo Labs, is a world class researcher in the field of machine learning and data mining.
“Komli Media is committed to bringing scientific and technological innovation to the digital advertising ecosystem for the benefit of our customers”, says Prashant Mehta, CEO Komli Media. He added, “With SHS’s leadership, I am confident Komli Labs will help create huge differentiation for us.”
Digital Media and all the advertising opportunities in it are rapidly expanding in India leading to better & advanced form of research & analysis inventories. Focusing on the online advertising optimisation, trends, audience targeting, real-time bidding and traffic quality management, this digital media lab will be operated from Komli’s Bangalore-based R&D centre.
Last year Komli Media raised $15 million in a funding round led by Norwest Venture Partners. Utilising the money for expansion, the company has been involved in a couple of deals. It acquired Los Angeles-based ZestAdz, a mobile ad platform with offices in Des Moines, Lowa and Chennai. They also took over a Singapore-based online media firm for branding, lead-generation and marketing known as Aktiv Digital to further strengthen its reach in Asia.
Komli launched India’s first real time bidding platform to get a better inventory on an ad-platform called ATOM last month, which is meant for helping media buyers to scan bids and buy online ad inventory on an impression-by-impression basis, reaching the desired audience at scale.
This move will certainly add a lot of value to the company to establish itself globally and a complete digital media advertising company in India.
