Facebook, recently launched timeline apps, with 60 applications to begin with. Timeline apps allow for real-world activities to be shared with friends.
Gaana.com is one of the first Indian applications to be integrated into Facebook’s new Timeline. Users can now share the music they are listening to with their Facebook friends, making it one of the first truly social music service in India. On click, it takes the user to the Gaana.com website, where he or she can choose the music they want to listen to. When a user listens to a song, a message is posted on his Facebook profile, indicating which song they are listening to.
Announcing the application, Mr Rishi Khiani, CEO of Times Internet Ltd said, “We have always believed music is discovered via common tastes and peer to peer recommendation. With gaana.com’s integration on Facebook’s Timeline, we expect to see strong traction of our content and an increased user base via Facebook.”
This integration is another step of Gaana.com to make music listening and discovery a much more enjoyable experience. Earlier, Gaana.com became the first music site in India to build an iPad version using HTML5.
