ad:tech New Delhi hosted seven keynotes this year in its 2nd edition which concluded a few days back. We unveiled Satyan Gajwani’s keynote last week itself where he announced the launch of BOX TV & a lot more.
Day 1 had ended with a stellar keynote from Gian Fulgoni, Executive Chairman & Co-Founder, comScore, Inc who spoke about the State of Internet with lessons learned in the Digital Measurement Trenches of Online Advertising. As hyped as it is, marketers have harped on the metrics aspect of all online campaigns their brands would do & have insisted on a One Metric rule since long.
Some of the key highlights were:
- In terms of internet usage, India is in line with China but is lower in the total engagement aspect when compared to Russia & Brazil.
- 75% of internet users in India are under the age of 35, as compared to 52% globally.
- In India, 95% of the online population visits social networking sites & Facebook dominates a huge proportion out of this.
- Social networking usage is leading to a decline in web based email specially driven by the younger set of audience.
