Blackberry users can rejoice, as ‘India One’, a free music application which allows users to stream Indian music has been launched by Next Mediaworks. The company also owns 7 FM Radio stations in India with BBC Worldwide through its subsidiary Radio One. The app was earlier launched on November 2011 as a ‘paid entertainment application’ for Apple iPad and iPod users where it topped the latest itunes charts.
The decision to offer a lighter version FREE is to ensure that the large base of Blackberry users in India who constantly seek Indian entertainment will now be satisfied. ‘India One’ offers new Hindi and Tamil songs, Retro Music along with Hindi Film Karaoke and Mood player.
The application which is best used in WiFi/3G mode, can be downloaded from the BB store or from http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/73318/ or just by smsing BB to 5365. It is developed in continuing partnership with 2ergo India.
Radio One Ltd Managing Director Vineet Singh Hukmani said, “As a company we have been constantly pushing the envelope in the digital space as a means to create a viable parallel revenue stream. RIM in India is a great co–marketing partner to work with and we are glad to launch India One free on Blackberry. The app has been developed in continuing partnership with 2ergo India.”
